Flexible hours and scheduling are designed to accommodate any emergency, family or physical. Like many other tech companies, we are aware that physical proximity is not actually a necessity in this industry; if the weather is bad, employees will obviously be more productive working from home than if they have to spend two hours commuting to the workplace, worrying about running off the road. Quality of work is our primary measure, not how many hours a person spends at a specific desk. We do value the benefits of having people together in the office, such as an ability to answer any questions quickly and easily, and a greater feeling of being part of a team. They do not have priority over employee safety or health.
